The Whiteford High School Marching Band serves the community through great musical performances, representing positively the character of our school and township, and supporting local events with enthusiasm.
We work hard to enhance the experience of any event we attend, creating a performance that is fun, musical, and something that we, the school, and the community can be proud of.
We support students who are multifaceted in their interests and talents. We work actively to enable students to take part in Marching Band while still taking part in other sports or activities important to them.
The WHSMB is a part of the Whiteford High School band experience, and all students who take part in band from 9th-12th grade take part in our excellent marching band program.

Just a quick note for all Marching Band Families regarding tomorrow evening's game:
There was an issue with our T-Shirt order that won't be rectified until next week. For this reason we are changing our outfit plans for tomorrow. Students should plan on wearing comfortable jean or khaki shorts, comfortable shoes (white not required), and blue and gold t-shirts. If you don't have a blue/gold t-shirt, let Mr. Welling know, we may have spare shirts from previous seasons that will fit.
Good morning!
I'm happy to report that our 2021 band camp went great! Huge thanks to our music boosters who help make everything possible!
Our Cedar Point trip is tomorrow! We will be meeting at the school no later than 8:00am. For the performance, we will wear our show shirts (to be distributed in the morning) and either khaki or jean shorts and comfortable shoes for the day. Our performance time in the park is 10:30am, after which students will be able to enjoy the park until close (8:00pm). We plan to be back to the band room at around 9:45pm.
As usual, we are planning on taking our annual Cedar Point trip the Tuesday before school starts on August 31st. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend for this fun day. We will be taking a bus to the park, and the music boosters are willing to pay for half the cost; anyone riding the bus is asked to pay $10 to help cover the remaining cost.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer!
As we creep closer to the start of the school year, it's time to start talking about our plans for the Whiteford Marching Band season. First, I'm pleased to announce our show, Quarantine Comeback! I'm also excited to announce our drum majors for the 2021 marching season, Jami Creque, Olivia Cossins, and Jaedon Diesing. There were many awesome applicants this year, as we have a great group of kids in our band this year. Thanks to everyone who applied!
For those of you who haven't heard, this past Friday MHSAA released their decision to postpone the football season until the spring (dates yet to be announced).
Whiteford is an amazing community, and I will be the first to pledge that we also postpone our marching band season until the spring as well, so as to support our team. Hopefully restrictions will have lifted by the springtime which will allow us to perform at home football games and cheer on our students.
